Bags coming to SA!!

So I have had a lot of time the last week, seeing as it is summer vacation.
I finally had enough time to sew and I could finish a few orders that I had.
I never even intended to make this many handbags when I started out, but I got a little carried away. I think I'm all bagged out for the moment though:)

I am sending most of these bags to SA with my parents, who we will be seeing in a week!!!! The bags are going to a market at the end of the year, but if you like one of the bags and want it, and live in SA, please send me a mail at inspired.gabi@gmail.com. I will put a temporary page, with prices, on the blog (top right) called SA bags.

MY FIRST ORDER!!!!

I know I have already posted a version of this bag - but this new one is officially my first order (hence the deviation of my usual colour scheme:). I am so excited that someone actually wanted one of my bags, I was just having fun making them. THANK YOU so much to all of you for your support!

Bag no.2

So with the help of my new book and google I have made this reversible bag. I realised I needed a reversible bag because some days I need colour and other days I prefer plain - this way I get the best of both. Making it did cause a bit of a brain cramp though, but its worth the effort. You can't see it from the photos but the straps tie at the top. The printed cloth and ribbon that are on the bag are newly acquired - I was at dongdaemun market in Seoul again... That place gives me what my dad calls 'choice anxiety' - there is just so much to choose from and I want it all.
I'm starting to get interested in summer dresses so I'm hoping I will get the time to try one soon...

Some new inspiration

So I went to daegu and searched around in one of their massive bookstores called kyoto. Where I found this book - which was the last one on the shelf. So I had to convince the sales lady that she should give me the sample copy. I did get it for a small discount. Afterwards I realised that apart from inspiration this book is of little value. The diagrams are not very helpful.  BUT with the help of google I can figure most of the patterns out.
